Business Development Manager - Flood and Hydrometry

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Flood and Hydrometry Monitoring Equipment is responsible for driving sales growth and market expansion of advanced monitoring systems used in flood risk management, water resources, and hydrological research. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and delivering technical solutions that meet customer requirements in both public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in flood and hydrometric monitoring across government agencies, environmental consultants, research institutions, and utilities.

Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline and convert leads into revenue-generating contracts.

Attend industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to promote products and network with key stakeholders.

Client Relationship Management

Establish strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.

Understand client needs and offer tailored monitoring solutions that align with their objectives.

Technical Expertise

Maintain a strong understanding of hydrometry, telemetry, sensor technologies, data logging, and flood early warning systems.

Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to educate potential clients on the capabilities and benefits of the equipment.

Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to feedback market requirements and improve product offerings.

Market Analysis and Strategy

Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to inform strategic planning.

Develop go-to-market strategies and support marketing campaigns targeted at flood risk and water management sectors.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or technical account management, preferably in environmental monitoring, instrumentation, or related fields.

Strong knowledge of hydrometry, flood monitoring systems, and water data analytics.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with a consultative sales approach.

Ability to travel across the region and attend client meetings, trade shows, and site visits.

Desirable Skills

Degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a related field.

Experience working with public sector tendering and procurement processes.

Familiarity with remote monitoring platforms and IoT technologies for environmental data collection.
